ACTING ON LITERACY

A storytelling adventure for ‘Tweens ages 10 to 14. Roderick Townley’s book, THE GREAT GOOD THING (a top ten Children’s Book Sense pick), is dramatically read and performed by Lois Kagan Mingus and Joanie Fritz Zosike. Participants read along and volunteer to give voice to supporting characters and narrative sections. The book is serialized in five sessions. In the fifth session, participants discuss the book, and collectively create a new chapter they imagine might follow. Duration of each session: 60 minutes.

Requirement: Sufficient copies of book available to participants.
