The
Action Racket Theatre visited the GRYC Little Stars Pre-K in December
2004 to perform a holiday variety show. The two co-founders Joanie
Fritz Zosike and Lois Kagan Mingus held
two shows for 162, four-year-old preschoolers. Their performance included
the dramatic storytelling of “The Magic Castle of Now,”
“The Snowy Day,” and other stories and poems. In addition,
Joanie and Lois wore colorful theatrical props and employed whimsical
dances. They made the story of The Cat in the Hat,
by Dr. Seuss come alive.
It
truly was a fun day for the kids. The children were engaged by having
to draw what they see and express themselves, as part of teaching
the power of imagination. The Ridgewood Times
newspaper also featured a mentioning of these dramatic shows. It
was a great experience for all.
