Joanie Fritz Zosike has
appeared extensively as a solo performer and with various theatre companies
in the U.S. and abroad. She taught theatre and music at Bellevue Hospital
and Grand Street Settlement and presents workshops worldwide. Joanie
is composer/lyricist of the children’s musical, Lily
Frog and Friends, which ran at the Las Palmas Theatre
in Los Angeles, and co-authored And Then the Heavens Closed,
garnering a grant from the National Foundation of Jewish Culture. The
play was presented at The Jewish Museum in New York City in 1996. She
served as Managing Director of The
Living Theatre and has been a company member since 1987. As well
as being an actor in the DADA/surrealist theatre company, DADAnewyork,
she also serves as its co-director, and recently published an article
about DADA in NY Arts Magazine. She is on
the board of New York
City People’s Life Fund and the Steering Committee of Theaters
Against War (THAW).
